Mission Statement

In 2010 Melbourne Acrobatic and Dance Studio opened its doors with a dream of providing quality dance training in a positive learning environment. We have continued to grow each year and available classes now include Pre-school classes, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-hop, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre and Contemporary.

Our mission is to provide a safe environment where your child can grow with qualified and experienced teachers who are extremely passionate about what they do.

Our Teachers are compassionate and understanding and work to provide opportunities for self-expression and creativity whilst promoting excellence, dedication and hard work. We strive to get the best out of each individual student whilst working towards attainable goals, which will leave your child feeling confident and positive.

About the School

Melbourne Acrobatic and Dance Studio has been operating since 2010 under Principal, Natalie Bale. The studio has grown very steadily,  in the Bayside suburbs of Hampton and then also Beaumaris, Melbourne. We started with just 10 students in 2010 and now we have over one hundred students from ages 3 and upwards. Classes originally started with Jazz, Ballet and Acrobatics and now also include Tap and Musical Theatre and Contemporary.

In 2016 M.A.D. Studios started entering students in examinations with the Royal Academy of Dancing (Ballet) and the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (Tap) as well as competitions.

In August of 2017, we moved into our fully equipped, purpose built studios in Moorabbin.

Frequently asked questions:

Do we have a Concert, and is it compulsory?

Yes, we actually have 2 concerts during the year. The first, our mid-year concert is usually held in the 2nd last week of term 2. This is purely a chance to let the students (especially new students) have the opportunity to perform on stage for experience and helps with confidence for the end of the year shows- No costumes required, just class uniform.

Our end of year concert is an absolute thrill for the students (and their parents), whilst also showcasing what they have achieved during the year. There are costumes, which you purchase- NO sewing or running around required, it is all done for you and then they are yours to keep! We endeavour to keep costs as reasonable as possible, whilst maintaining a high quality and standard.

No, the concerts are not compulsory, but very rewarding!

Do we do exams, and are they compulsory?

Yes, we do R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dancing) exams for Ballet and C.S.T.D. Exams (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing) for Tap.

In 2019 we will be adding Acrobatic Arts Exams also!

Exams are NOT compulsory. Our schools endeavours to cater for both the recreational and more serious student. You can participate in these classes to help improve technique without having to do the exam.

If you do wish to do an exam, they are a great way to track progress and work towards a goal and give the students a great sense of achievement, which will help promote confidence which they will carry throughout their personal life. Please see Miss Natalie if you wish to work towards an exam and she will help you choose the appropriate class.
